Peer Helpers - Contact Ms. West or Mr. Vercimak for more information

Peer helpers are students who make a positive difference at school and in the community. They are proven role models who have leadership potential, a willingness to serve others, and a commitment to learning. Peer helpers engage in learning opportunities throughout the school year.

Students are nominated by their peers and staff at the end of fourth and seventh grade. The criteria for selection is based upon their leadership potential, respect for adults and peers, and ability to find creative ways to help their peers solve problems.

5th Grade Band - Contact Mr. Jerabek for more information.

Winneconne's fifth grade band program is widely considered one of the best in the area. In recent years, the band program has been steadily growing with over 60% of each fifth grade class enrolled in band. The group meets every other afternoon at the elementary school and plays a variety of music ranging from classical to rock 'n roll. The class is taught by Mr. Jerabek and assisted by Mrs. Zemlock. Students are instructed in group, sectional, and inpidual settings. Students begin by playing simple songs in unison and end up performing multi-layered arrangements by the end of the year.
